Membership in the IBA pays off for bear researchers, managers, and conservationists alike. The IBA offers connectivity with peers, professional meetings, publications, and updated information and news pertaining to bears and bear projects worldwide.
Membership Benefits
Membership entitles you to receive International Bear News, IBA's quarterly newsletter, and the journal Ursus. Ursus is a peer-reviewed journal that is published twice a year. It is the most comprehensive publication dedicated specifically to bear research and management, and is now also available online to subscribers of BioOne. Other membership benefits include some discounts during our international conferences, and voting privileges. Soon, IBA members will be given access to online discussion forums on bear-related topics.
Standard Membership
- Standard Membership costs $50.00 USD/year, or $45.00 USD for 3 or more years. Our online membership enrollment allows you to sign up for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 years at a time.
- Includes International Bear News and Ursus.
- You have the option to keep or donate your copy of Ursus.
Institutional MembershipLow-Cost Membership- Low-cost Membership is available for those who cannot afford a Standard Membership, and costs $25.00 USD/year.
- Low-cost Gift Memberships are also available.
- Includes International Bear News, and a free copy of Ursus may be requested.
Gift Memberships*- Standard and Low-cost Memberships may be gifted to another member.
- *Gift Memberships must be conducted as a separate transaction for each individual.
The IBA makes every effort to keep your payment options easy and safe! We accept credit cards, personal checks, and international money/bank orders. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we no longer accept wire-transfers.

- Upon payment, you will see a message stating that your "transaction is complete."
- Shortly, you will receive an e-mail automated receipt as proof of your membership, and will receive your subscriptions to IBN and Ursus via snail mail.
