IBA Web Site Privacy Statement
The privacy, confidence, and trust of individuals who visit the IBA web site are important to us. No personal information is collected at this site unless it is provided voluntarily by an individual while participating in an activity that asks for the information. If you have questions about the IBAs privacy practices, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The following paragraphs disclose the information gathering and usage practices for the web site.
Collection of Information
The IBA only collects the personal information that is necessary to provide the information or services requested by an individual. "Personal information" refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual who is the subject of the information. This information may include such items as an individual's name, address, or phone number.
Use of Information
The IBA uses the collected information to respond appropriately to requests. This may be to respond directly to you or to improve the web site. E-mail or other information requests sent to the IBA web site may be maintained or forwarded to the appropriate individuals in order to respond to the request.
Advertising & Other Links
The IBA does not use third-party advertising on its website, but it may acknowledge donors and sponsors with links. This web site also has links to many other web sites. These include links to web sites operated by government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. The IBA is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites and suggests you review their privacy statements.
Security of Financial Information
Financial information (usually credit-card numbers) is collected for the IBA by Authorize.net to bill for membership, merchandise or other products or services selected by you. The IBA site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. At www.bearbiology.com your personal information and credit card number are encrypted by SSL (Secure Socket Layers), and your information is stored in an encrypted database with Authorize.net.
One easy method to verify SSL security is to check the bottom left corner of your browser. Whenever you enter a secure area-like The IBA Online Membership form, the broken key (or padlock) icon is replaced by a solid, secure key (or padlock). Whenever you see this icon, your personal information will be safely and securely transmitted over the web.
Membership Cancellation and Refund Policy
Subscribers to the IBA may request a refund or cancellation at any time if they are unsatisfied or if special situations require a refund. Refunds for IBN & URSUS are pro-rated based on how many issues have been delivered. Membership is canceled when a subscription with which it is included is canceled.
The IBA welcomes comments regarding this privacy statement. Please convey any questions or concerns to:
