About Ursus

Correspondence

Questions about submissions should be sent to the Ursus Editor-in-Chief, Jerry Belant.

For submissions, see Instructions for Authors.

About the Journal

Ursus includes articles on all aspects of bear management and research worldwide.  Original manuscripts are welcome.  In addition to manuscripts reporting original research, submissions may be based on thoughtful review and synthesis of previously-reported information, innovative philosophies and opinions, and public policy or legal aspects of wildlife conservation.  Notes of general interest are also welcome. Invited manuscripts will be clearly identified, but will still be subject to peer review.  All manuscripts must be in English.  All manuscripts are peer-reviewed, and subject to rigorous editorial standards.

Prospective Authors

Prospective authors are encouraged to read the “Instructions to Authors” section, for guidelines on manuscript policy, page charges, and general style. For specifics, please see the latest issues of Ursus. To obtain back issues, see the “Back Issues” page.

The best way to ensure you keep abreast of new science and thoughts regarding bears, and their management and conservation, is to join the IBA by clicking on the Membership page. Ursus is sent directly to all full IBA members, twice-yearly.
