2017 IBA Eurasia Election

It’s that time of the year to start thinking about who you want to serve on your IBA Council. This election cycle is for the Vice President Eurasia and 2 Council Seats. The Nominations Committee has selected candidates for these seats and now the nomination period is open to all IBA members with current membership (for specifics on voting and nominating eligibility please refer to the IBA Bylaws.

The following IBA members have been nominated by the Nominating Committee and accepted to run for Council 2018-2020:

  • Alexander Kopatz – Vice President, Eurasia (Incumbent)
  • Mei-Hsiu Hwang – Vice President, Eurasia

  • Klemen Jerina – Councilor (Incumbent)
  • Santiago Molina – Councilor (Incumbent)
  • Marta DeBarba – Councilor
  • Alexandros Karamanlidis – Councilor
  • Marion Schneider – Councilor

Candidate statements will be made available prior to the opening of elections. If you would like to nominate an IBA member to run for one of the available seats, please contact the member you want to nominate to ensure they are willing to run. If they are willing to run, send an email to the IBA Secretary to officially nominate the member and copy the member you are nominating on the email.

This year we will be implementing a new voting system using the upcoming membership management software we are in the process implementing. As we progress with the implementation, we will send instructions on the new system for member services and the upcoming election.

Timeline for the 2017 IBA Election

  • August 20, 2017: Deadline for Nominations Committee
  • August 20– September 20, 2017: Open nomination period for IBA Members
  • November 1 – November 20, 2017: Election opens
  • December 15, 2017 Midnight, MST: Election closes
